Automations
Automations for your smart apartment
Three ways to connect devices you already own: room heating, motion lighting and scheduled washing. See how each example works, which equipment it needs and what we check during a home survey in Belgrade.
01
Temperature tailored to the room
Radiators provide the primary heat, with AC assisting only when conditions allow.
What starts the automation
A change in room temperature, presence or window state.
What happens
Two or three radiator valves control the primary heating. If the room still needs heat, AC heating can assist only when someone is present and the window is closed. AC cooling runs only with the window closed. If the window opens while the AC is running, it stops after 2 minutes.
Controller and connections
Home Assistant configured on suitable hardware, with a compatible Zigbee coordinator or bridge and an integration for infrared AC control; required hardware is included in the total.
Equipment in this example
- Two or three SONOFF TRVZB radiator valves
- SONOFF SNZB-02P room-temperature sensor
- Compatible window contact sensor
- Compatible presence sensor
- Infrared controller for the existing AC
- Suitable Home Assistant hardware and a compatible Zigbee coordinator or bridge
What we check
- Radiator valve compatibility and room-temperature readings
- Sensor pairing, Zigbee coverage and infrared controller integration
- Existing AC support for heating, cooling and the stop command
Possible upgrades
- A wall tablet for viewing and control; not included in the displayed estimate.
02
Hallway lighting on motion
The light welcomes you at any time of day; your wall switch remains usable where the installation permits.
What starts the automation
A compatible Zigbee sensor detects motion in the hallway at any time of day.
What happens
The light turns on at 30% brightness for 2 minutes, then turns off. There is no night-only condition. Your existing wall switch still works.
Controller and connections
SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Pro (ZBBridge-P) as the lower-cost controller for this basic example; the bridge is included in the total.
Equipment in this example
- SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Pro (ZBBridge-P)
- Compatible Zigbee motion sensor
- Compatible dimmable wall-control device, e.g. SONOFF Orb-ZBDIM/MINI-ZBDIM-E
What we check
- A suitable light that supports dimming to 30%
- Sensor and dimmer pairing with the bridge and support for this automation
- Wiring, retention of the existing switch function and electrical compatibility
Possible upgrades
- Additional lights with separate compatibility checks; not included in the displayed estimate.
03
Washing from midnight
One button requests that your dishwasher’s next cycle starts at 00:00, when the cheap tariff begins in this example.
What starts the automation
You press the button once your dishwasher is prepared for its next cycle.
What happens
The button asks Home Assistant to schedule the next cycle for 00:00 (midnight). It uses the delayed-start operation supported by the particular appliance and account.
Controller and connections
Home Assistant configured on suitable hardware, with the official Home Connect integration and any required coordinator or integration hardware; required hardware is included in the total.
Equipment in this example
- Your existing Bosch/Siemens dishwasher with Home Connect support (excluded from the estimate)
- Button for requesting a scheduled cycle
- Home Assistant system on suitable hardware
- Required coordinator and hardware for connecting the button and integration
What we check
- The particular appliance and Home Connect account must expose the required program action and allow remote start
- Check delayed-start operation on the particular appliance, program preparation and required permissions
- Check the internet connection for Home Connect and the actual cheap-tariff start time
Possible upgrades
- View the scheduled cycle on a wall tablet; the tablet is not included in the displayed estimate.
Let’s see what your apartment can do.
We visit, check the installation and propose only what makes sense.
The survey costs €30–50 and is deducted from the price if you accept the proposal.
